Faunistik

Die Art ist nicht in Europa heimisch! GOATER (1986) schreibt: "A single dead specimen found in a strip-light insect-trap at an aquatic nursery in Hampshire in 1977 by the late D.W.H. Ffennell. A second specimen was taken at Bolton, Lancashire, 26 August 1983 (Hancock, 1984; pers. comm.). A native of the far East." GOATER et al. (2005) erwähnen sie im "Appendix: List of acentropine species introduced to Europe by man" mit dem kurzen Text: "So far only found in Great Britain (AGASSIZ (1978: 126), and Denmark (KARSHOLT & NIELSEN, 1998). Native to the Oriental Region."

Die Art wird auch für Schweden erwähnt; SVENSSON (1995) schreibt: "Oligostigma bilinealis, rödbrämade akvariemottet, var med som svensk införd art redan i förra katalogen men utan närmare uppgifter. Bert Gustafsson har två exemplar, en hanne 6.III.84 inlämnat av V. Strid, och en hona 5.III.84, från V. Axelsson, Stockholms akvarieaffär. Fjärilen avbildas av Barry Goater (1986). Den liknar inte någon svensk art."

Die Art dürfte in Europa zumeist nur in warmen Gewächshäusern leben können.
